            OPHA Working experience

OPHA is very young and newly established organization, but the founders, management staff of the organization has tremendous experience in leadership, management, public health and capacity building with national and international organizations, these experiences will be fully utilized in building the capacity of BPHS and EPHS HFs and health relatedproject staff and furthering the health care service delivery system. The senior management staff has at national /country level (MOPH) experience of public health , leadership as well as community development which is a big intellectual assets for the organization. Currently OPHA has sub offices in Faryab ,Parwan and  Logar provinces. OPHA was responsible for capacity building and professional development of Logar entire BPHS and EPHS health project staff. Currently OPHA has 395 staff (Poject+HQ staff). OPHA has 12 management staff in HQ.

Currently OPHA is implementing BPHS/EPHS (HER ) projects in Logar and Parwan provinces in partnership with CAF as lead and OPHA as sub partner.

In addition to HER project, OPHA is implementing AHF funded project SHC/MHNT in Paktika province in which OPHA is sub partner with CAF in this project.

OPHA in partnership with SAF got funded Covid 19 project from UN-OCHA in the Samangan Covid19 hospital project is implemented directly/solely by OPHA. Additionally, a project of six Mobile Health and Nutrition Teams (MHNT) in Parwan and Panjshir provinces was funded by AHF-UNOCHA .This was in partnership with CAF. OPHA actively implemented the Trauma Care Center project in Samangan Aybak provincial hospital which was funded by UNOCHA through partnership with SAF (just completed).Through this project OPHA could manage to provide trauma care services and it was a very succesfull project with good outcome indicator achievement.

OPHA was awarded a project of Micronutrient Sprinkle Powder Supplementation (MSPS) for severely malnourished children treatment and prevention in Logar province. It was supported by Afghan Social Marketing Organization and OPHA distributed 800000 sachets of MSPS for targeted children (Completed by end April 2022). Additionally, OPHA got a donation of PoP tablets for family planning purposes and provided to the beneficiaries as per guideline in Logar province. OPHA is active member of health, nutrition and protection clusters. The organization has passed due diligence and capacity assessment for UNOCHA and is eligible for AHF funds. The leadership of the organization has high level academic experience to the level of master degree in Public Health and Community Development program from international prestigious institute ( USA). In addition to that, more than 30 years’ leadership and management expertise of the leading members of the organization is to be overemphasized. Throughout the lifespan of BPHS-EPHS health projects OPHA has gained good experience and confronted with different challenges thereby learning a lot in implementing different projects. Through dedicated and professional implementation of different projects, OPHA is awarded Appreciation certificates by provincial public health directorate (PPHD), local governor Directorate and parliament member.

2 COVID-19

Emergency response and haealth prepardness project in Logar province through partnership with CAF

The overall objectives of the project were to protect Afghan (Logar ) citizens from the spread of COVID- 19, to respond and mitigate the threat posed by COVID-19 in Logar province, and to strengthen national health systems preparedness and capacity to respond to public health emergencies. One of the aims of this project was to avoid disruption of BPHS/EPHS service delivery under the Sehatmandi project.

4 Whole of Afghanistan Multisecural need assessment 2020 project in Logar province through partnership with ACTED The general objectives of this project was to Inform multi-cluster humanitarian programming for the Afghanistan response by identifying inter-sectoral needs and how they inter-relate across different geographic locations and population groups outlined in the Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO).
