Healthcare Initiatives

The Organization for People’s Health in Action (OPHA) is dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare for underserved communities across Afghanistan. Our healthcare initiatives focus on addressing critical health needs, reducing disparities, and building resilient healthcare systems that promote healthier lives for all.

Key Focus Areas

1. Mobile Clinics

OPHA operates mobile health units that deliver essential medical care to remote and underserved areas. These clinics provide general consultations, maternal care, vaccinations, and treatment for common illnesses.

2. Maternal and Child Health

We prioritize maternal and child health through programs focused on prenatal care, safe childbirth, postnatal support, and nutrition. Training midwives and healthcare workers ensures that women and children receive the care they need.

3. Preventive Healthcare

Promoting prevention is central to our mission. OPHA conducts vaccination drives, health awareness campaigns, and screenings for common diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and cancer.

4. Capacity Building

We train community health workers, nurses, and midwives to enhance the capacity of the local healthcare system. This not only creates jobs but also ensures sustainability in healthcare delivery.

5. Emergency Response

In times of crisis, OPHA mobilizes its resources to deliver emergency medical care, medicines, and psychosocial support to communities affected by natural disasters, conflicts, or epidemics.

6. Mental Health Services

Recognizing the importance of mental health, OPHA offers counseling and psychological support programs to help individuals cope with trauma, stress, and mental illness.
